Soprano: Aiko Sakurai
Specializes in Japanese and German art song and sacred music. Highly regarded in early music as well, appearing as soloist with Promusica Baroque Academy and Bach Collegium Japan. Completed graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. First prize, vocal division, 2022 Sogakudo Japanese Art Song Competition. Second prize and Audience Award, vocal division, 93rd Japan Music Competition. Fifth prize, 24th International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition Leipzig. Second prize, vocal division (Pörtschach), 26th International Brahms Competition. Recipient of a 2020 overseas music study grant from the Meiji Yasuda Quality of Life Cultural Foundation. Alto: Toshiharu Nakajima
Completed the Baroque voice major in Early Music at Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School. Graduated with highest honors and unanimous distinction from the Lied/Oratorio program at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Active internationally as a soloist, invited to festivals across Europe including the Vienna Schubertiade, the Utrecht Early Music Festival, and the Prague Spring Festival. Prizewinner at the Japan Music Competition, International Brahms Competition, International Petr Eben Competition for Contemporary Song, and others. Recipient of the Agency for Cultural Affairs Arts Festival New Artist Award, the Goto Memorial Cultural Award for Opera New Artists, and the Kyoto City New Artist Award.

Tenor: Akinobu Ono
Completed undergraduate and graduate studies at Kunitachi College of Music. Seeking further knowledge, he entered the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, intensively studying performance practice from the Middle Ages through the Romantic era. Drawing on that experience, he has appeared as soloist and ensemble member with leading ensembles across Europe and as a guest at many festivals. In recent years he has been especially active in vocal ensembles; numerous CDs on which he appears have received high international acclaim, and his recordings have also been featured on NHK FM’s “Pleasure of Early Music.” Second prize, Biagio Marini Competition (highest place in the vocal ensemble division). Highest place, vocal division, 30th International Early Music Competition 〈Yamanashi〉.

Bass: Yuki Kuroda
Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts and completed the master’s program there before studying in Italy. Second prize and Iwatani Award (Audience Award), vocal division, 87th Japan Music Competition. Third prize, vocal division, 20th Tokyo Music Competition. Opera appearances include Nissay Theatre’s 《The Barber of Seville》, Antonello’s 《Giulio Cesare》 and 《Rinaldo》, and Biwako Hall’s 《Die tote Stadt》. As soloist in works such as the Ninth Symphony, he has performed with the New Japan Philharmonic, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, and others, and has also appeared on NHK-FM “Recital Passio” and NHK E-Tele “Classic TV.” Continues to refine his craft as a German Lied singer in Karlsruhe. Released “Meine Lieder” on Nippon Columbia’s Opus One label. Member of the Nikikai Opera Foundation.
